Man, when I think of all the things that this guy resembles, it scares me. Appearance wise, he bears a striking resemblance to Chipp Zanuff, Alastor, Strider Hiryu, Laharl, a little Jak....I'd even go so far as to say Sonic the Hedgehog. Now, personality wise, he's pretty much like any hyper serious rival type, for example: Meta Knight or Alastor(in the anime, at least...maybe a little more serious). You know, the kind that seem evil at first glace, but eventually reveal this apparent soft spot or relation to the central character.
Now if it were up to Gary, he'd rather not be called "the Tiny Samurai", due to his pent-up inferiority complex...Unfortunately for him Razz never remembers his name and refers to what he is instead...Now that I think about it, Gary's actually more of a ninja than a samurai...the Shinobi-esque red scarf doesn't help...
Gary is first hired by Mr. Dark to assassinate Razz, but Gary eventually begins to question whether or not Razz is actually a threat to anyone after observing her tendency to be lazy and childish, and resolves that she's just an ordinary person, or not the "Raspberry Jam" he's supposed to be going after. So he does something he never thought he'd do: he knocks on the door and asks if she's the one. Razz calls him a 'cute little thing" and, mistaking him as one of Dark's monsters, bonks him on the head with her wand and heads back inside, telling him she "has better things to do right now". Gary is flustered by her rudeness, and leaves a note on her door telling her to meet for a duel...he ends up sitting motionless in the town square for three days, when Razz happens to pass through. He lunges at her, and in seconds has his blade to her throat when Razz shouts at him "What the heck are you doing?!" Gary is confused by the comment and reminds her of the note. Razz reacts with "Oh!...Sorry, I must've forgot." Gary gets even more flustered by her not taking him seriously, and they settle things in the square. Gary doesn't expect Razz to fight very well, but when she starts to show more promise as a challenge then anyone he's ever faced, his warrior's spirit flares up...the fight ends in a draw, and Gary says that one day he will defeat her, and heads off into the unknown. After he leaves, Razz's friend Flour asks why she didn'y use any sorcery on him, and she jumps up and says: "Hmmm...I didn't even think of that!"
