She seems unsteady when you first see her, leaned heavily on an ivory pillar. She’s separated form the gala, peeking in on the crowd from a safe distance.
She lets out a small squeak as you approach her, her cheeks coloring a bright crimson as she spins to face you. The gilded stars on her gown clink together.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t notice you there.” Her voice is more high-pitched than usual. Is she embarrassed?
As if sensing your thoughts, the dragoness’s cheeks color further, eyes darting downward.
“Oh… this?” Her voice is very quiet. She motions to her dress. “I-it was Nilla’s idea. I-is it too much?”
She watches you under her long eyelashes, watching your reaction closely.
The gown is the color of the midnight sky in late summer. Glitter fills the blue like an endless expanse of the universe, the shapes that dangle from her bust are wishes you made long ago.
