In the bloody sands of the grand arena of Krom a massive amalgamation of events, battles, and macabre activities take place for the people of the bloodthirsty empire. Among all the gladiators and contestants in the arena, there is one that stands above them all. It is the behemoth of a Charizard known as Cain, a decorated solider who voluntarily became a gladiator to sate his thirst for blood, meat, and fame.
The empire of Krom is an aggressive but prudent nation. They know what to invade, to attack, to conquer, and what to be on friendly terms with. No matter their goals, a mighty empire needs a might military, and they boast one of the most powerful in all the land. Among the many legions lies an elite frontline group which acts as a vanguard for the whole army. Only the mightiest, most skilled, and most robust soldiers are accepted into their ranks. They are the Unbreakable Dragons, who consist of dragon and dragon like pokemon.
Service in the military is mandatory for all citizens and most serve with pride, some with a bit more gusto than others. When Cain first enlisted, he was already naturally a big man, not as much as he was later on, but was well among the largest Charizard around. A lot of equipment, weapons, and armor had to be custom fitted for him, which was a common thing he was teased for but all in good fun, these soldiers were more than glad to have such a big beast at their side. He quickly became quite well known and liked for his outgoing attitude and loud boastful persona, a trait which rose morale all around. However he was quite a glory seeker and pretty selfish, which made him quite lacking as a leader and he tended to have some issue with teamwork which was some what frustrating for his superiors. However his efficiency in battle was more than enough to make up for any shortcomings.
While being proficient with several weapons, Cain was a true master of the two handed axe, heavily enjoying it's extreme weight and destructive capabilities. He was quite the one man army and his powerful stature and wings allowed him to his it and his weight to their full potential. Not only was he physically capable but his battle mentality was a sight to behold. He was brutal, relentless, and merciless. Watching him go on a bloodthirsty rampage was enough to motivate any of his fellow soldiers. Other nations would shun his brutality as he showed very little respect for the enemy. He taunted them constantly, toyed with those he felt were weak, executed the wounded, prolonged their suffering, and, in extreme cases a group bloodthirst, he would consume the fallen as a spectacle for his fellow soldiers. He grew quite a taste for meat after this and would over do it quite often.
His ever growing fame and stature had him recommended to join the Unbreakable Dragons. At this point Cain had become so large, that full armor did not fit him at all, which was a standard of the elite group. Because of this, he was not allowed to join. Annoyed, Cain continued to bulk up, hoping that his body would become so large and rough, that he could prove he did not need armor. After a huge amount of pestering, the officer in charge of the Dragons, a grizzly battle hardened Sceptile, annoyed, decided to test the Charizard. The officer would take a massive battleaxe and strike Cain's gut with full force, if he survived, he would be allowed to join. While obviously quite an extreme measure, Cain welcomed the challenge gladly and surely enough, the axe only somewhat penetrated his hide. While he was indeed cut, the wound was quite minor and so Cain was allowed to join. He was given custom made arm and leg armor (which he still wears to this day) and went on to prove his worth further.
With the Dragons, Cain went on countless successful missions, always wanting to be in the front and his body matched the heavy armor of his elite comrades. He stood by them unfazed and his unique appearance among the group made him the face of the elite unit. Unfortunately though, all good things come to an end.
The Dragons were sent to lead the way to a planned invasion of a kingdom many miles away from Krom. Their advance however was already known by the enemy and they were cut off from their allies. Alone and surrounded by an near endless horde, they had no choice but to fight as long as they could. While they were quite valiant and took down way more enemies than ever expected, they were defeated. All were killed in battle, while Cain lay among them but was actually only knocked out. He was overlooked and left for dead. Their battlefield was intentionally in a very remote location, the enemy wanted to make sure they would have no reinforcements.
An extremely weak and wounded Cain had no choice but to stick around and survive until he could recover. He was carried by his extreme desire for revenge, remembering the faces of all the kingdom soldiers who remained alive. He was forced to consume the corpses of his fallen brethren, as the enemy recovered their own dead but left his behind. When it came to his ex commanding officer, that crazy old Sceptile, Cain also took his massive battle axe, as his own was destroyed. He would keep this axe for all time, never being seen far from it. When he was fit to fight, he marched off on his own to slay all those that killed his brothers and sisters in arms. None where spared and when he reached the leader of the legion that attacked them, Cain took his head and ate his body.
Finally sated, drenched in blood, and weary, Cain dragged himself back to the closest friendly unit he could find. He wanted to continue the fight but was sent back to Krom due to his injuries. They finished the fight for him but Cain had always hoped to continue.
Back home Cain reported all that happened and was unfortunately forced to be discharged. While they loathed to let go of him, it appears that they had to do so do it him consuming his fallen allies. Cannibalism which was unfortunately necessary. He was sent away with full military honors and allowed to attend the funeral of his old unit, which he took part of. He was given a substantial amount of wealth and a very high end place to stay. If he wanted to, he could have spent the rest of his days in piece.
But that's not who Cain was. He grew restless, desperate for the carnage of battle. To attempt to calm himself, he would frequently visit Krom's famed arena to see a bit of bloodshed. He was welcomed with open arms, being a hero of his nation and was allowed to watch for free. He would spend more and more time watching battles until a thought crossed his mind. While gladiators were usually prisoners or slaves there were actually a few that would join voluntarily for their own reasons. Cain absolutely felt like he has good enough of his own reasons to do the same.
So Cain was to become a gladiator and he picked up his axe and armor once again. He was also give his signature belt as an extra touch. From here on, his extreme battle prowess, military experience, and ridiculous size and strength served him quite well. He became a crowd favorite for his explosive and brutal fighting style. With success came fame, with fame came fortune. Cain soon enough knew exactly how to excite the crowd and loved to here them chant and roar his name.
He was undefeated and he always put on a bloody show for the crowd, with his signature method of killing, if told to do so, was to eat his opponent. Every event he was in was sold out in seconds and Cain took his celebrity status with much pride. All around Krom his name became well done. The massive dragon who could take down anything that was put in front of him. He walked the streets of Krom with his head high and adored the constant attention he received. Even the royal family were among his fans.
Cain was truly the pride of his country and every day in the arena he would gladly demonstrate the power his nation has allowed him to obtain.
At last, Charizard lore dump : ]]
This hefty guy has been a fighter his whole life and has built it body around it. His friends love him and his enemies fear him. I have mentioned that a certain Kommo-o warrior monk is a close, VERY close friend of his, but I'll get to that in more detail later : ]
