Iron Artist #16: Punktiger
punktiger wanted a bit of an update of a mischievous grin type pose. Tried a little perspective too, especially since that masks the fact that I'm not entirely sure what size a balalaika IS (images online are ALL over the map, though electric ones seem to be smaller). Interestingly I have no idea what his eye color is, because none of the reference images have his eyes open, he's always rockin' out.

*heh* Sorry about that. Punk's eye colour is green (just like his player's). He just tends to close his eyes when he gets into his music.

Well, when you do check the link, two things. First, you'll see the size of Punk's balalaika (give or take... and no, that's not a euphemism for anything), and second, you'll hear what a virtuoso balalaika player can do with the instrument (which Punk certainly is not).

Unlike his player, whenever he's not listening to music, he's playing music. (I personally don't play any instrument with any precision. And if you want to know the truth, Punk only wishes he could play as well as Alexei Arkhipovsky. )

They're still pretty much a concept instrument, but someone did hand-make a working prototype. In Punk's world, electric balalaikas do exist, but they're not very common or popular, as most rockers/punkers find the guitar a more versatile instrument for the genre.
