SO I washed my suit for the first time the other day, after a long weekend of Halloween fun! See my latest Journal for details on that:

I've never washed my suit, having only had it for less than 5 months. However, since I met the awesome Shep Desoto and have been suiting with him on an almost weekly basis, I've gotten quite a bit of use out of my suit.
But I've also gotten very smelly. :>
Not like GAG smelly, but enough where people say I smell like a dog. :P
So, after wearing my suit to 3 different outings in 2.5 days, I decided to stop bein' lazy and soak mah fur over night. I did so in the tub, in a rubbermaid container, and then after rinsing it out, I threw it in my washer on the Spin ONLY, to get rid of most of the dampness.
THEN it was half a dozen trips on the dryer's air Fluff setting to get most of the remaining wetness out.
FINALLY, it hung in my room in front of my fan, now turned outside the right way, to dry the rest of the way!
And NOW I smell so clean and fresh, I can't wait to go out in the cold and have moar fun. :D
I will say the part that took the longest to dry was my tail, which is attached to the bodysuit, but i mean, I have a BIG tail. :D

Actually my pads are removable, It's just upholstery foam cut to the right dimensions, then inserted into my fur leg when I put the suit on.
Yeah, that's why I'm hesitant to get a muscle suit for that very reason, because it's next to impossible to clean properly because of the sewn-in foam.

*waggwaggwagg* I washed mine for the first time on Wednesday night! After several outings and about 26 hours in suit over the FF weekend mine smelled like febreze and dog! It is dry now after having most of the water squeezed out of it in the beginning and having fans on it for 3 days. I can't wait to suit up in it again! I need to scotch guard it first though! That stuff does wonders for bits you need to spot clean! Cute pic Jak! *hugs*

Not only did I wear mine nearly non stop during AnthroCon when I first got it, but for the past 4 months I havn't washed it even though Teh and I have gone out to fursuit, and I sweated a lot. Maybe it didn't smell as bad as it should because I always fan dried it for a night and febreezed it, but Before I bathed it, it really did smell like a dog... I smelled like a dog. :>

*waggwagg* Yeah, when ever I am done with mine I always put fans on it and use anti bacterial febreze all over and inside it. When I got back from FF I had the bodysuit hanging up in my living room and I noticed a smell. It was mostly a febreze type smell but it did have a hint of dog and I decided now was a good time to wash it before I suit up again. I am sure it could have gone longer but I didn't want people to shy away from hugs because I am a stinky puppy hehehe. That and I was curious about washing it and how that whole thing works. It is fluffy again and ready to go! I am going to suit up for our weekly meet this Sunday me thinks. It should be fun! I wish we where closer so we could form a dog pack and cause some antics! *hugs*
