This is basically basing on my headcanon of her in which she is not very successfull at her job (not at all actually), so she makes no money and is dirt poor. She only owns that one costume she wears and can´t even affort one of the crappy homes she tries to sell. Still she tries her best as she is optimistic that better times will come.
Now that I look at this, this turned out much darker and sadder than originally planned. I was basically taking the line from that one-off joke with Lenny in that one episode of the Simpsons in which Marge became a real estate agent and ran with it, but damn, that makes that character much more tragic than I intendet... Oh well, can also be in an AU where she really fucked up.
