With the pose in the original art and that smirk, not surprising that it would be inspiring.
With your edit, I imagine the scenario here being that Tails just casually asking Sonic if he was ticklish on his feet. Sonic is playing it cool and bluffing a bit that he's not ticklish and that Tails can go ahead and try it for himself but it won't work. Hoping though that Tails won't call his bluff because he'd probably crack up and start laughing within a few seconds.
