I find that interesting, because if you examine moths closely -- steady, now -- they tend to be furry and silky and rather friendly-looking, whereas butterflies tend to be nakedly exo-skeletal and rather alien.
Then again, unlike moths, butterflies rarely zoom at you in the dark and scream "BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!" in your ears.... ;)
