CCCXIX: Exposit and Chill
<<< PREV | FIRST | NEXT >>>
This is one of those “exposition delegation” situations that often comes up in the writing process for this series. A bunch of characters are in a room and deliberate about what is happening and what they need to do. To figure out the correct pacing, I throw bullet-point ideas and certain catchy-sounding sentences onto the page and construct an organically flowing conversation around them. I use what I know about each character to decide who should say which line. (The “owner” of some lines are more obvious than others, of course. Only Noah’s parents would have to ask how Noah is doing right now.) Once the generic exposition lines are assigned to a character, I rephrase them in a way that sounds natural for that character. Ash is going to be straightforward, while Morty is going to be sharply inquisitive but also judgmental and/or snarky when he gets an answer.

Yeah, better use the utc-comic referral link. Something is definitely weird with utc.catomix.com ... not only is it showing the last page, it doesn't even allow me access to the site's backend tools like the regular link does.
I cleared the site's cache and now it shows the latest page. I don't know if there's anything I can do to automatically force this every time there's an update. The cache-clearing plugin I already use is designed to prevent this kind of thing...
