Lack of trees and the bright light above made it possible to see for long distances all around. At first, it had terrified her to feel so open and exposed, as if she could see a threat they most certainly would be able to see her. But soon, Musaamik found herself grateful for the clarity of sight as her throat grew dry while she flew over this unfamiliar landscape, her lips sticking against her teeth with the thirst and the chafing wind. A gleam of light on liquid, and the aalukris angled herself down to land at the edge of a vast lake. Unsure as to what lurked within its depths, Musaamik walked gingerly along the bank until the water grew shallow. A tree grew here, with long branches that opened like a flower out from the trunk and dangled vines of leaves that offered some paltry shelter from that expanse of open sky that loomed above. Warily dipping her head to lap up some of the water, Musaamik's eyes wandered to her own reflection in the water as she wondered if it was even safe for her to drink...
