When Grace saw the strange creature sitting on a pile of torn clothing in her daughter's room, she immediately knew what had happened to Serena. After some testing, it was determined that Serena's mind was mostly intact. However, she could feel bestial instincts clawing at the back of her mind. Although she was still allowed to live with her mother, Serena had to wear a collar and a leash when outside. Grace often takes Serena out for walks, and even though Serena is still resentful about losing her previous life, she usually goes along, hoping to come to terms with her new existence.
