I bet it did....my brother's friends got really into it....and used incredible weapons. we all used wood in our sparring, but one used an 8 foot long log that was 6-8 inches around, I used anything from a sword to a staff, another guy used a war hammer, and my bro used short swords mostly^^
now, if we still did it, I'd go against them without a weapon
