Happy Halloween, everyone! Here's your treat - a new Critters Halloween epsode! In it, when an otherworldly creature terrorizes April and Frieda, it’s up to Peter to save them!
As a footnote to last month's episode, you guys rather surprised me. I expected to take some flack for the politically-charged Higher Office, but I didn't get it! I know the politics of some of you watchers, and I know HO would have rubbed you the wrong way. Which is exactly why I did it, and I expected to hear your displeasure. But I got...nothing! This time, I know what accounted for most of the silence - you guys were just being charitable. So, thank you. But just as a reminder, you guys *can* tell me if I'm doing something wrong! :)
Have a safe and enjoyable Halloween. Just don't eat too much candy!

Alright, I'll give this critque dealy a shot. Here's how I think you could improve your comic. You should seperate the panels, it makes it easier for the reader to read. Without gutters between your panels, it can confuse the eye and make the story hard to follow at times.
But, hey, that's just my opinion. I meant no venom toward you if it came off that way.

Not at all, mate - thanks so much for the feedback! :)
Interesting idea. I had kinda thought about that whole space between panels thing, once, a long time ago. But in the end I decided to continue with that format as a way to give me that little extra space and to set myself and style separate from all those others out there. Tell the truth, this is the first time since I started drawing Critters in 1990 that anyone said anything about that. :) I'll certainly keep you in mind going forward. Maybe if I'm looking at a lot of text for a cartoon I'll put gutters in, or maybe thicken the panel lines, or somepin like that. If you're thinking as you do, there're bound to be others thinking that, too! :)

Heh.. No, but it'll prolly do as much damage if wielded the right way. I find it funny not only Reedy's choice of weapon, but that - rough and tough Frieda - should be brought to her knees by a mere spider!
But I guess even Superman was powerless against Kryptonite... :)
