Die'mon is of a species who evolved on a planet with a thin atmosphere, the Luimgard. Sound doesn't carry very far there. As such, they adapted bright bioluminescent crystals on their back, which flash in differing colors and patterns to send signals between individuals. Simple additional eyes help them detect lights flashing at them, though the more precise ones on their heads are necessary to actually understand what's being communicated. The large antelimbs are to help them climb to higher areas to broadcast more efficiently.
