This place is also on the Washington coast. Have to watch the tidal charts for access to this place, but when its exposed its a mucky creamy mud bog. One of those field trips that the swampfox scouts took for learning about intertidal zones. A salt marsh!

I'd have to get a good thermal wetsuit to go exploring right now. I found a neat marsh not too far from where I live that I'd like to explore, but no uniform I've got could ever prepare me for that kinda chill, and a swimsuit certainly wouldn't do the job not unless I was seeking hypothermia Exploring swamp weather is currently on hold till summer
Oh for that exploration session I learned something from my friend Sara, and I wore a ballet outfit. With performance tights, leotard, and leather ballet slippers cleanup was a snap! When I explore strange new places I often carry a swimming Kick-board. They float great, and can provide you with some great balance, and leverage for freeing yourself from a muddy embrace ;) When I finally did choose to leave the swamp I just stripped out of the ballet outfit and had a quick splash in a local outflowing stream, and viola totally clean!. The ballet uniform pretty much kept me totally clean sans a muddy water residue that gets through the tight fabric of the dance-wear. Makes for easy exploration of interesting places ;) One of the other scouts went in her uniform and lost her shoes, socks, and very nearly lost her skort too. Her cleanup was quite the ordeal, but we always pack for such 'clothing emergencies'
All of my more mucky pictures are based upon my RL experiences. I utilize this account (FA) as an "In Character/IC" account, and the descriptions are based around those IC events and explorations. I tend to keep the experiences that I share in photography, and in commissioned art works (as I am pathetic at drawing) in a General to Mature rating, and prefer not to exceed those ratings in my descriptions.
This little spot is just about half an hour north of Portland Oregon. A place called Woodland Washington. Its been a few years since I've been down that way, so I'm unsure if its still accessible at this time. If ya do find yourself in that territory, make sure to learn your tide tables for the region. I do believe (if memory serves me correctly) you want to check for the 'Satsup point' tide station as that would give you the most accurate tide table for that bit of marsh. If you need further info on how to get there, please note me and I'll be happy to give ya all the nitty gritty details
Awww, too bad, fun stuff though. Ya do have that whole Atlantic Ocean influence, surely there's some great tidal marshlands to play in around that territory (give or take your proximity to the sea) I'd honestly recommend having a looksie at Google Earth and looking at for local marshlands that way. Such a tool is great to experiment with. I always print up a map of the area I'd like to explore and then take my bicycle and ride around the nearby roads to seek out the marsh map that I printed out. Makes marsh tracking a breeze !
