So, let's get to the point.
Kobaan's story is that of abandonment from his village, but he was taken in by his grandparents, raised a moral good upbringing and then revisited his past by going in training with a sensei for several years ( also the point where he grew to become who he is now ), Kobaan's abilities include being able to lasso his super stretchy tail to swing from point to point, absorb others by devouring them into a pocket dimension in his stomach/miniaturizing them aswell as electric and ground-type moves.
Smite, is obviously the inversion of this healthy upbringing~
For every choice and event, there is a alternate multiverse via space and time being created to counteract it. Smite is one such example, abandoned by his village and his grandparents having died tragically, without the counsel and company of allies, he'd become cynical, bitter, self-serving and eventually power hungry~ he'd kill and absorb his teacher who'd vow to take him in, taking on his characteristics and taking on both abilities of his teacher's to time travel and open portals via dimension, space and time, fly, and use electric and dragon type moves, his chunuki supernatural prowess moving into the background, but still able to eat others, aswell as absorb their power from doing so.
Whilst Smite is naturally very powerful of his own right, Kobaan is less so, but his strength comes from support and working with his friends and the power of unity. He needn't be alone or suffer asas by treating others with kindness, working together to defeat odds difficult or overwhelming.
Kobaan in fact pities Smite, who engages his caring counterpart by bringing interdimensional alien beings and armies into his world. Kobaan has been taught to never judge a book by it's cover and to understand, rather than seek vengeance and intolerate. Kobaan believes he can save the world by being kind and making allies, Smite believes he is better alone, seeking the status of a tyrant and enforcer of his own cynical brand of justice and world domination.
Essentially, lawful good, lawful evil.
Perhaps they don't always see eye to eye and Smite is quick to laugh at Kobaan's pitiful ability against overwhelming odds, but sure enough with his optimism and heart of gold, Kobaan will win out, one friend made at a time.
If the shoe was on the other foot, could you forgive your enemies?
