Original Species: Thunderhorn
Vast grasslands with close proximity to portals leading to the Fey Realm are home to the Thunderhorn. These large antelope, through exposure to Fey magic, have developed the ability to store and manipulate massive amounts of electricity. This manifests through the light blue and purple fur on their backs and, of course, their eponymous horns.
While they are usually quite docile (their large size protects them from the smaller and more common predators), once they feel threatened, they will channel as much electricity as they possibly can into their horns and charge at whatever the aggressor. Upon impact, once their horns sink into the foe's flesh, the Thunderhorn will unleash all of the stored electricity at once. This is usually enough to neutralize most threats. And if one antelope can't do the job, then the rest of the herd will join in on the beating.
However, as mentioned earlier, they are normally quite docile. If left alone, or at least made to not feel threatened, they will tolerate the presence of humans (a true blessing for field researchers). Notably, they respond positively to displays of lightning magic.
A key component of their diet is the so-called "Fey Grass" that can only be found in areas close to active Fey Realm portals; they require it to regain expended electricity.
