A Thursday Prompt story

Prompt: Bubbleologist
It was a beautiful thing, as it hung in space before his eyes. Perfectly spherical, but mutable depending on outside influences like a breath of air. A single touch, and the delicately balanced network of molecules would lose its cohesion.
And the bubble would pop.
He spent a while gazing into the depths of the bubble, admiring it.
Brushing a fingernail against it, he watched as the bubble vanished.
With a sigh, God went back to work. Maybe the next universe would turn out a little better. Perfection was unattainable when working with matter and energy, but he supposed that incremental improvements would bring him a little closer.
