Totally awesome 20's airplane! ^v^

Yeah. I take a ton of aviation shots, but was surprised that this one was doing a stopover here.

My camera malfunctioned on the first 200 shots, but I got it adjusted and got another 300 (I take a lot of dupes in case something is wrong with the first, such as an intrusive insect or quirk of the light). $85 for a ride was way above my means, though.

I'd take that ride... and you are so fortunate these days with digital... when I was your age it was all film and you had no clue if it was going to come out until you got it back from developing...

TELL me about it. I've missed so many photos in my life due to film costs! At the moment, I'm starting to sort some 10,000 photos from the last 12 years into folders.

Aww, man! I wish I'd known it was here.

I just happened to catch the last 5 seconds on the news, then spent a frantic 10 minutes trying to search Jabara Airport and 10 variations on flythroughs. Wichita hasn't had an airshow or any kind of event in a LONG time (though supposedly another airshow is scheduled for this Fall).

I’ve never gone to the show at McConnell AFB. There are too many horror stories about traffic and parking and crowds and heat. I did go to a small show at Jabara maybe 20 years ago. That was a lot of fun.

The last one nearly killed me, parking 2 blocks away and walking in amid a seemingly endless legion of the groaning damned. And I followed that up at Botanica, for a second shoot.

Nope. I shot number of Doc shots during the restoration, but have never had change to shoot it since, though I saw it do a low flyover one time when I was driving. By the time I pulled over and aimed my camera, it was gone.
