Water of that temperature is surely well beyond the bounds of “It’s alright once you’re in!”
Though I’ve passed Niagara Falls many times on my way between the US and Canada, this was the first time I’d actually stopped to visit them. Having agreed to meet with my good buddy
on the American side, I walked over the Rainbow Bridge to cross over the border, the first time I’d entered the US since June 2019. In typical fashion, I’d only chosen the final act of winter for my visit, as the temperature rested at a bone-chilling -6’C. Still, at least the areas was quiet, and made for some spectacular views of the iconic falls surrounded by snow and ice.
Hope you enjoy!

After three years of being grounded thanks to the 'rona, there was little "just" about it! Besides, when you've lived in Wales as long as I have, you'll know that there are much worse things that can be walked through. ;-p
Thanks very much! It was a very striking view; definitely worth doing when the weather is a bit warmer, I think. ^__^

I loved seeing your Niagara Falls pics!
My last time walking across the Rainbow Bridge was in 2016 when a furry friend from Germany came up to Toronto for a visit. We travelled across the bridge in August, so it was a LOT WARMER than your recent trip in the winter. You took some magnificent views of the American Falls and the hotels on the Canadian side. There's so much history in Niagara Falls! For example, the 'Underground Railroad' went through Niagara Falls during the time of slavery. It was fascinating to read up on the history and to visit one of the museums on the New York side of the Niagara River.
Thanks for sharing these pics! The photos are GREAT!!
