The glove! That's why I prefer to have pictures as references - this sculpture was created following the text description only; so some elements required changes as sometimes the text isn't clear enough to describe the idea.
Though in the end everything worked well!

In most cases I have pictures-references sent me by customers, so I use them.
If a customer has textual description only, I kindly ask to send the pics of some elements at least as examples (as my imagination can be different from customer's, so it's better to have ones to avoid re-makes). I don't do sketches. Though once I did a sketch for painting scheme, as I had only textual description of the colors and so wanted to be 100% sure I got it correctly. But usually I just have it all in my head.
And if I work on my own ideas, sometimes I don't even have a clear vision of the result. It's just like a general idea "hmm, someone feline-like with stripes and blue eyes" - and then I just let the inspiration guide me. I had a couple of ideas which I sketched, but not all of them ended up following the sketch ;)

Huh...not gonna lie. I wanna get some extra funds. Just so I can commission two pieces from you. Both on the same subject. One-free reigns you do what you think with a vague description, then a second one with a very detailed (Almost Lord of the rings, level) and see how much they differ
