This is my part for a mexican bestiary that is being done for an exposition this november 6th.

I called dibs on the Ahuizote which i have always found quite fascinated.

It is described as a dog like (or otter like) creature that lives in the water. It has a long tail that ends in the shape of a hand which is used to grab it's victims.

The way the Ahuizote attacks is by crying, since it sounds like a human baby it gets the attention of curious/worried people near the water. This is when the ahuizote uses it's hand/tail to grab the victing and drag him/her underwater to drown.

The funny thing is that it only eats the eyes, fingernails and toenails.
