I was inspired to make a species lately. Sat down and doodled and this is what came out.

The Arka are a species of powerful, wish granting entities, created when an Arka Scarf and another being merge into one. The mind of the entity inhabiting the scarf and the entity putting it on combine. With effort they can re-separate mentally, though it's often easier to just remain the same entity, and very few Arka are unhappy with the arrangement. The original body is changed into a uniform dark gray with a magical glow from the power of the scarf coloring their internals and eyes. The body shape is changed in some unexpected ways, usually influenced by the entity inhabiting the scarf. In other ways it's changed in set ways that all Arka have, losing their arms, and gaining horns and earfrills.

Arka are merged with their scarf, and as such the hand and wing are easily used as an actual hand and wing. The intense magical power an Arka wields is more than enough to handle any other tasks they would need their limbs for.

Arka scarves are created when an existing Arka swallows a willing being, and converts them into a new scarf. This is often treated as the Arka taking the new scarf as their child. A scarf and a being merging into an Arka is often treated as a marriage. Each scarf is infused with one of the 15 'Elements' that make up reality, and controlling this element and its associated magics doesn't require Archive Magic. It also influences the appearance of the scarf itself.

Arka practice Archive magic. They can use nearly any method of information recording to access the Arkives, which hold nearly all information. If an Arka calls up the files on a specific thing, they can also alter the information, which affects the thing in question. For instance, if an Arka pulled out their smartphone and requested files on their friend, they could go to the 'Height' entry, empty it out (turning their friend into a decal on the floor as a transitional side effect) and then put in whatever height entry they wished, and their friend would be changed accordingly.

Many Arka have decided that they have an obligation to share their power with those less fortunate. Most Arka either run cosmic projects such as the Astral Garden (A pocket dimension where godlike beings can live semi-normal lives with others like them and without harming others) or bond to specific beings as wish granters, although the wishes are usually temporary in nature.

Arka names are combinations of a word evoking a type of information recording, and a word evoking their element, such as Burning Text, Flowing Song, or Astral Quill.

The particular green Arka in the middle of this image is named Ivy Nib. He's a particularly absent minded Arka, who quite enjoys using his abilities for his own fun, and often forgets what he's done to the people he cares about. Oddly enough, they often don't seem to mind the arrangement. He's a sweetheart, but a little clueless. So far he's not had any assignments, but in time the Arka council might assign him to someone to be their wish granter. He's not looking forward to it, but more likely than not he'll be enamored with his new charge when assigned to them. He's easygoing, he just has it in his head that he doesn't want that sort of job, even though it would suit him.

Not that it actually needs to be said, but on the off chance that someone wishes to make their own Arka character, they can do whatever they wish with the concept. So long as it makes someone happy!
