30 years ago there was a conflict in Opal City, back then it was just a mining town run by slavers and smugglers, crime rose to the point that they wanted to declare war on the rest of the kingdoms but a group of brave heroes managed to stop them, freeing the slaves and helping turn that grimy little town into the great city it is today.

Swordbeard- He was a gladiator during his youth until a young sorceress fell in love with him and helped him escape. He hates having to carry his weapons so he asked the sorceress to enchant her beard, since then he can keep hundreds of swords... and food.

Khangi - He started out as a mercenary, agreeing to escort important people and cargo, but when he saw what was happening in opal city, he decided to act even if he didn't get paid for it (or so he says) he has some skill with magic but he's not a mage expert, he prefers to fight with his sword and leave magic tricks to heal wounds or distract the enemy.
