Another older piece, from December 2006. I'm putting all of this up here to show that I really am improving. Honest. =^.^=
"Fun with Etymology! This is Maria Renard in her Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (Nocture of the Moonlight in some regions, if that helps) incarnation. I was originally only going to take this as far as the third sketch, but once Kharon told me the real meaning of her name, I knew it would be pointless to resist. =^.^=
Maria's clothes are crazy. They used a simplified version for her in-game sprites, especially around her sleeves. I think this falls somewhere between the two. Oh, and in case you were wondering, that's supposed to be the Rebound Stone (Diamond) and some Holy Water she's holding there. This version may be moved to Scraps once I have a more advanced version up or something.
And now for a special message. You may have noticed that it's just about impossible to see. Well, it looks fine on my monitor, but almost everyone I've shown the digital version to says it's too light. I checked it on another computer whose only difference from mine in display settings (including color correction) is the monitor model and it was almost too light to see at all, as well as bluish, but this computer also shows everything but things I scan in identically to mine. One person even said it looked red.
So, that long rant established, what could make two computers show what I scan (and only what I scan) so differently? Can anyone help me out? Should I just ink everything and never submit pencil stuff like I originally planned or try a different file format, maybe? And as always, any other critique would be appreciated as well."
