Timmy and Tommy are brothers (Timmy elder). Tyler is elder full brother to Trevor and half-brother to Cypress. Kyleigh is eldest half-sibling to Cypress, and was supposed to be half-sibling to Tyler and Trevor but scandal happened. Janie is one year younger than Tommy. Tabby is slightly older than Timmy.
Oldest to youngest:
Tabby, Timmy, Tommy and Kyleigh, Tyler and Janie, Trevor, Cypress
They all have close genetic ties from their shared set of grandparents and other elders of the McArra Clan.
*originally there is magic involved in their story as high fantasy in modern day and Kyleigh was raised a girl as his father had done some magic so if Kyleigh's mother had a girl, it meant that his child and if the child had the blood of a rival clan, the child would be a boy. Tyler's father, Clark, and some of his close family in the clan found a pregnant Fallon and her lover together in a secret spot one night and murdered him but they did not know that he was a spellcaster as well as Clark, and he had put a sort of "curse" on Kyleigh that would make his genetics more in line with the McArra's than the LeBouvier's until he was ready to embrace the truth. The secret of Kyleigh's sex is exposed early on though but they mostly ignore it, Kyleigh keeps his cursed genetics and lives confused about his gender but leaning girl cuz that's how most of his childhood was spent.
The original timeframe of this story was in the late 2000's/ early 20-teens, when Tommy and Kyleigh were sophomores in high school and Janie and Tyler were freshmen.
*originally the magic involved makes Cypress a unique case that I'm still not sure how to update. She's born with more magic than had been seen in generations and her odd-eyes and platinum blonde-and-black hair is to display that. It also has her living in the heart of the clan's acreage with the elders and those who mostly refrain from social life in the modern day. She is who Kyleigh was supposed to be, and he tries to be a good big brother, but she is obsessed with Tyler (who does his very best to keep Trevor away from the clan drama and life, though Trevor goes from sad that his big brother pushes him away to bitter when he's older and realizes all that Tyler hid from for him in the name of protecting him).
*Timmy and Tommy have a sister named Tammy between them. Their father, Barry, goes missing and is assumed to be dead for years from their childhood until Tommy and Tammy are in their teens (she's a bit older than Tommy) by which point their mother married another man and they have a young daughter named Trisha.
**Fun fact: Tyler McArra has a pseudonym which is "Sylvinn Fischer" though to this day I don't know why, it has just always been a fact about him.
