I quickly drew Alister and Edgar hairless as a result of a conversation with some friends today.
... Damn they're really ugly without hair. :c
I tried to base this off of pictures of actual hairless dog breeds and how the pigment in the dog's skin can supposedly reflect their markings (I could be wrong about this. I'm not a vet, so I really don't know how exactly dog skin works in terms of this).
I might move this to scraps, after this is done making me and everyone feel awkward.

Skin doesn't necessarily reflect coat color. One look at a Chinese crested tells you that. (The powderpuff varieties with white hair very often still have gray/brownish fur underneath). Depends on the dog breed, but usually the skin is a different color than the fur or hair.
Hope that helps! :3

Ah... Thanks.
They're part coyote/part Chow Chow, so I tried reading some stuff up on Chow Chow skin color. I didn't really find much except something about how Cream colored Chow Chows generally have cream-colored skin and such. Also I read that dogs might have pigment spots like the equivalent of freckles on humans, so I don't know.
I kind of wanted to draw it this way because it just looks more aesthetically interesting instead of just straight pink/peach skin. I may try to make it more accurate if I have to work a situation that involves hairlessness in my comic or something.
