Um. SURPRISE!!
This was kinda the other secret plot point the side arcs were leading up to. We've had this planned for quite awhile. Whether he's had a complete change of heart or he's still a cynical little yapdog, I can't exactly say yet, but you'll see soon enough. :)

Y'know, maybe I'm reading too much into the initial "SURPRISE NEVER THOUGHT YOU'D SEE ME SPARKLE, HUH?" panel since in those type of panels the char ALWAYS has to look their most fabulous, the fact that it seems like he's TAKING CARE OF HIMSELF and even PREENING with poofy bangs (and dang, I just noticed how long his hair was in general) and I think that's the least SCRAPPY I've seen his tail in YEARS makes me wonder after the second time around he's learned to not hate on himself so much. (ARE HIS LASHES EVEN LONGER NOW?!)
On a funny note, it's less noticable that Vinci has also decided to go shirtless, but it's probably because he was always showing off his fluffy coon chest anyway with his open shirt. XD;
....I want to draw his bangs like that all the time now. Angel or mortal. I don't care if it's inaccurate, it's just...so...FLUFFY.
