Oho, for your first attempt, there is absolutely nothing wrong. You've already noticed how small and fidgety some details are, especially concerning chaos marines. I am proud of you for having managed to deal with such a thing.

Hmm, I believe next time, you should try to use less dense colour. You know what I mean, no? Using a palette, a wet one to be exact, in order to maintain fluidity of colour to avoid thick clumps of dried paint in the final layers, for example.

For your first, not bad at all! There's a couple of thigns you wanna keep in mind:

1: Scrapes off/remove modle lines and where it was attached to the sprue (parts tree)
2: Always primer models!
3: Water down your paints a bit so they don't get lumpy on you

Other than that, a little highlighting/washing and he'd be ready to fight! :3
