Decided to draw a pauldron that goes with the vambrace. Another test of shading and seeing what I can do with just pencil. Please tell me how I can improve if you see something wrong.

I cant say much about um how this is supposed to look, since I don't actually know what it is xD
but what I do suggest is, when sketching with pencil, start out really light with your lines they seem really dark and big here so they are sort of distracting.
right now the actual shaded areas are sort of random, think of a light source to help, sometimes ill draw a dot or something up in the corner just to remind me what direction the sun is coming from, the darkest areas will be furthest away from that dot, and if this is supposed to be a metal drawing then the closest areas would have some gleam or shine.
also start light and gradually move into darker areas, this is usually my rule for just about every kinda of media, since darker colors tend to blend/smudge into the lighter colors if you do them first.
i hope this helps :)

I believe that's supposed to be a piece of shoulder armor, correct? I'm not completely up on my armor terminology, but that's what it looks like to me. Looks pretty good, to be honest, but I'd consider raising the lowest horizontal "blade" a bit since with that current setup someone wearing it wouldn't be able to raise their arms very high.
the only thing I can say really is to work on shading so it doesn't look so flat. Try to find some pics of shoulder armor online and look at how the light bends around the curved areas. Otherwise though this is a really nice piece. It's simple but it looks good and effective.
