Original "Keyblade" designs (from on the "Kingdom Hearts" game series) inspired by my fursona and my own creative universe.
Left blade "Chains of REM", based on Talon's own sword used in his dark fantasy origin story.
Right blade "Exceptional Error", based on my creative multiverse "Feral Perception".
(I'm one of those people who's been dreaming up a connected universe since before the Marvel movies made it cool. A proper explanation of all these details would contain heavy spoilers for my upcoming games and novels)

For a while I've been revisiting the nostalgic series of Kingdom Hearts, and finally catching myself up to play KH3 for the very first time. I never knew just how deep it's original lore went, which kinda blew my mind with it's number of similarities to my own creative universe. Creative concepts such as "duplicate characters being entirely different characters, based on names and terminology" and "words for spiritual concepts based on convoluted metaphors" are NO strangers to my own universe!!! So much to the point that I'm really beginning to think my childhood playthrough of KH2 had subconsciously inspired A LOT of my own work unintentionally. But in a good way.
By the incredibly rare chance I'll ever feel safe going to a furry convention again (now that I've become burdened with covid trauma due to my terrible lung conditions), I think it would be tons of fun to make a physical prop of one of these (or maybe both) to go with my next fursuit. While Talon traditionally carries his chainsaw greatsword "REM" from my own universe, it would just be confusing and scary to people if I carried around a big sword prop.
But a Keybalde? Not only is that a sillier prop far less prone to frightening con security, but is a nerdy reference that geeks of all kinds understand! And if they've played any of the games before, they'd know how keyblades represent the hearts and stories of the worlds they are from. Even now as this image, I'm sure some people seeing this understand: It's like a passive glimpse into my own world, without need for a full explanation of boring details.
---
FYI: I mainly wanted to sketch this idea up to get this off my mind, and to put something at the front of my gallery that isn't christmas art. If any of my chonky pals are seeing this: sadly, YES, the fatfurs story I promised in my journals is still on hold. The hard truth is I've burned myself out beyond belief and have had some tough irl stuff going on. I'm very sorry if anyone is disappointed it's been delayed for this long.
