And one last time down that spaggeti slide!
To Sam: First, holy hell you caught the Fist of the North Star reference. Awesome! And Enkidu, A.K.A. the boy, was built as a foil to both Mage and Boraknos. Mage is stupid and reckless, but he's practically made of confidence. No matter how bad it gets he follows through, even if he doesn't have a plan. Boraknos is his opposite, he rarely acts and plots everything through. He's always concerned about the future and agonizes about a lot of his choices, but he's confident that he's doing what's right. The boy acts, but isn't sure, he wants what he thinks is right but has no idea how to get it. He's unsure and doubting, but still feels like he has to do something. It's the old id, ego, super ego, I think.
To Stank: A lot of your complaints came from cuts I made for time. There were supposed to be a great deal more to some of the set ups and fighting, which would have brought out more to Cyan and Sam. In fact that first leg of the fight in the tower was supposed to be a two parter, with Drez and friends fighting Smiles and he vores people while Spade and Maxi take on another villain while they try and hit their final objective. Sefra and the mods were supposed to have a one on one with the boy to really draw them both out more, and I really wanted to go more into why Boraknos was the way he was, and why he came off as so weak in person. As for the love triangle, I think it fits into the end well. If you hadn't noticed the story ended as it started, with Mage and friends going on an adventure. It never ends, the story keeps going on and on.
To Russet: I hear you on the Ilok, and one of the big scenes that got cut was the Ilok explanation and Sorrin's overcoming of Ilok. I kind of alluded to it when Sorrin re-appeared, but never really explained it. Basically Ilok gains his power from perception, and the Sorrin you see is JUST his perception, the real Sorrin never moves from his world (according to Arc). So its simply a matter of Ilok being geared to trump Sorrin. It also explains why Ilok can't do anything against the AI, since they artificial perception is easily limited and can negate Ilok instantly. And in my defense there wasn't much I could do against Sorrin. Yolurgel could counter him if they were in the real world, and any other continuity Mokotenko could counter him too. But in this set up it was either Ilok, ignore him, or have fighting him take over the story. Also while I can see how you'd draw the Spirits Within comparison I was actually more drawing from Mass Effect 2.
To Damien: Again, those things I had planned to cover. Sefra nicked the Hammer in the swamps as they were leaving. As for Smiles, that was actually an entire sub-plot that got cut. The AI had a device that would track when people logged out, so that they could ambush someone as they did. Smiles was supposed to merge with this, and then use the insane processing power he'd accumulated to just brute force his way into the system, hence the broken nature of his portal.

Aww... nothing for me? XD
Though I did want to note that I caught the Fist of the North Star reference too... XD I didn't know we were getting props for catching these things. And on that general subject, I was guessing Enkidu was a Gilgamesh reference? Wanted to ask about that... but wasn't sure how well the two characters actually compared.
That is a lot of cut scenes and stuff though... maybe you can make a Director's Cut someday? XD
Aaaand I would probably have agreed that Ilok deus exing Sorrin was kiiiinda lame, but it's like you said, you didn't have a lot of options there. I think you handled it as well as you could have. Course, I just like Ilok so maybe I'm biased. XD

Again, Ilok is actually a lot LESS powerful than he comes off, and I'm kicking myself for not including that scene. And I might do a directors cut WAY in the future.
As for Enkidu that was kind of pulled out of my ass at the last minute, since I had never named the boy. There was some thought to it though, as Enkidu (Gilgamesh) was supposed to be a calming element for the wild king, but only saved him in death. Had the boy not gone rough and died Boraknos and Sefra would still be going at it, and eventually Sefra would destroy Boraknos.
