Apto April 26 - "Welcome"
Niall's very concept might come off as impossible to picture at first. He's a Pokémon Trainer who was transformed into a Pokémon, but still trains them. How does he do anything in society after that--how does anyone let him? Well, because... everyone in the core Pokémon series is either just as weird and impossible, or a styrofoam-for-brains who is too interested in backpacks or radios to think of anything happening around them. Psychic powers and ghosts and probably magic all exist! You turned into a Furret? Whatever, look at my bugs!!

I love the subtle callback to one of the first pictures you drew of him where he's holding his trainer card and saying that it's not fake. Also, that's a very valid point. Why would you question something like this if you lived in the pokemon universe where world ending plots happen on an almost annual basis and a child around the age of 10 has the opportunity to catch literal god.

In the Pokémon world, one of the most powerful psychic beings lives in a cave on the outskirts of a populated city, and an alien virus-dragon has infused an entire landmass with energy that turns normal animals into kaijus. Sometimes you just need to curl up and take solace in the comfort and wearability of shorts.
Also, that's a cool interpretation of AZ!

Sword and Shield added Dynamaxing, which makes your Pokémon giant for three turns. Certain species can also have a "Gigantimax factor," and when you Dynamax them, they transform further into a classic-kaiju-style monster with a signature attack. And I don't just mean the Godzilla and Gamera ripoffs you usually see when a series does a kaiju gimmick; Pokémon got weird with some of the G-Max forms (c.f. Meowth, Snorlax). Mechanically it's not great, but most of the forms have cool designs.
As for the landmass part...long story short, a couple thousand years ago, the Poké-British Isles were struck by a meteor containing a terrifyingly powerful alien dragon thing, and now its kaiju-making energy pours out of holes in the ground. And the local Pokémon League builds almost all its gyms over the larger energy geysers to enable controlled Dynamaxing and make things more exciting, because the people of Galar take League battles as seriously as the real-life UK does soccer. It's also their primary power source. This does not come back to bite them at any point, especially not at the climax of the game, in a 4-on-1 fight with the dragon after it juices itself up.
God, this franchise makes you sound insane when you try to explain it.
