Turns out Link has a secret purpose to taking such a high-risk occupation on the high seas, as Medli finds out when she opens the closet in their cramped cabin. It seems that Link's little sister, Aryll, had come down with a bad case of the mummies that she got from finding a cursed ring on the beach. What started as a few linen wraps materialing on her arm and bit of lethargy turned into a full-blown nightmare for the citizens of Outset as the girl became more ghoulish by the day. Feeling that he had no choice, Link smuggled his sister onto the first large vessel that came by the island to take somewhere where they could find a cure. Fortunately, the captain was looking for a new swabbie for the lower decks, so he's also getting paid albeit in the toughest way possible.

By this point, her entire body has been mummified, and her uncanny ability to escape the closet and roam the halls at night has begun to rouse suspicion amongst the crew. Though she has gained a zombie-like bloodlust, she's actually quite friendly to Link, showing that her soul may very well be still intact. Fortunately, Link was able to convince Medli of his plight and now has an ally in helping his little sister.

But let's not tell him that at this point, it might be too late to do anything.

If I do turn this into a story, there is a good chance that any sort of cure will only work to remove her mental zombification. She'll still be an immortal mummy, but a lot more presentable :3
