Just realized I never uploaded this.
There's this user on reddit called Poem_for_your_Sprog. They write poems on stories people say mostly on r/AskReddit about the various topics that are asked there. This in particular resonated very strongly with me.
Long distances are hard. Very hard. You imagine all of your concerns and doubts will instantly vanish when you're finally together. Very naive way of thinking, I know. I'm hopelessly romantic like that. A dream in constant work in progress.

I know that all too well. it's been 5- almost 6 years now since I met my boyfriend online. Still haven't met up once due to so many issues in life. School, work schedules, transportation, money, covid, and even after all that, there's the question of how we'll eventually end up when we finally move in together one day. It's still just a dream for now, but it's one in progress, like you said.
