I was going to skip Lt. Surge as well, since I have a Water type and 3 Flying types. At least, until I learned that beating him is the only way to use Fly outside of battle. I ain't givin' that shit up, yo. }:<

lmao, all that is so true, then again surge is pretty cheap too. I think like all the starting gyms in gen I are way too cheap. Anyway, love the meowth

I haven't played red but doesn't Misty's Starmie have recover too? I know she uses an X Defense when you're fighting

Wait, a Bellsprout? Is that LeafGreen exclusive? I found Oddish north of Cerulean while grinding Bruce the Zubat, sooo :V

Oddish starts out with no attacks, though, I think. Unlike Zubat, who at least had Leech Life and Astonish, you really NEED to Exp. Whore it with other members of the team. D:

Well I've now taken down Misty and Surge with my team of Wartortle, Golbat, Weepingbell, pigeotto, Mankey and Raticate. I did a lot of Exp whoring on SS.Anne. XD

*shivers* I once tried Misty with BOTH a ivysaur and pikachu both absurd high (for the time) lvl cause i was PLANNING for the battle with her and it still took me several tries *shivers and rocks slightly* ohh the STAB oooohhh

Hell, like I said, it didn't even get any STAB from weaksauce Swift, and despite being more of a special attacker than physical, it still wiped the floor with Ivysaur in a matter of two hits. Ffffff.

Huh... was Misty's Starmie really all that hard? I had an Ivysaur at level 23 when I first battled her and KO'ed both her Pokémon with Razor Leaf. Not necessarily OHKOs, but still.

Yeah, I had an Ivysaur, too. About the same level as yours, it still got floored by one/two Swifts from Starmie last time I played. It took me like 3 or 4 goes at it before I finally beat her. I'm glad I found out you could skip fighting her until you needed Cut, since I thought you HAD to fight her in order to move the officer out of the way. If I went at her again with my 5 level 20-ish Pokemon, that probably would've been the end of my Nuzlocke run already.

Huh, I never woulda thought you could skip Gym Leaders. That makes doing the Crystal Nuzlocke easier for me. I've always had the habit of beatin' everyone on the way. :U

Oh I know, right? I was always aware there was some form of sequence-changing (if not outright sequence-breaking) going on with R/B and the remakes, considering that you can take on, at the least, Sabrina and Koga among others in different orders. You could even skip Lt. Surge until after you beat Giovanni, since Fly isn't a necessary HM to advance. Though it is pretty wanted. :C

So did I, seeing as it's Silver-exclusive, since it usually goes Red/Gold and Blue/Silver for the version-exclusives. But I remembered seeing Meowth on my last playthrough, hence why I bothered to even search the grass south of Cerulean to begin with. :V

Wait a minute. The Cascade Badge gives you the ability to use cut outside of battle, needed to not only get inside Lt. Surge's gym, but also to Rock tunnel. How do you plan on getting past that without beating her?
