It's a little out of date, but here's something here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37223406/
As well as their life cycle https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45044714/
But I wrote this quick thing, for someone else who adopted one, that gives you their vibe:
Dorbleys are friendly, pacifist, deeply spiritual and endangered. They used to use their TF powers for war hundreds of years ago, but the Algan (basically the Force but only for Dorbleys) caused their eggs to very rarely work. So the elders decided to pick a default form and change their culture to that of peace and pennace. It has slightly appeased the Algan, but still not enough. So keeping their ways is paramount.
So around other Dorbleys, shifting into other forms (like hybrids or just being like a goo fox) is considered rude as it insults their form. But paradoxically, being good at shifting around is a praised skill
The Algan and the Force comparison is pretty accurate. All Dorbleys are goo, but if they want to unlock a mastery of cool shifting or TF abilities, its years if not decades of study. Also the Algan is what makes them "work." If a Dorbley stops being a Dorbley, like if they get merged with or TFed, the Algan forces them back or they might die.
Dorbleys aren't actually that physically strong. They can't harden (like making goo blades). Any separated goo instinctively tries to flow back into the main mass (like instinctively swimming to the surface with your eyes closed) but after roughly 5 minutes, it dies. If a Dorbley loses more thab 50% of their mass, they die. They recover goo over time, like how we recover lost blood
Dorbleys slowly gain mass as they age. That's how they see it. Dorbleys are free to tweak proportions as they grow, (longer tail, fins, belly, etc) but it's really obvious to them if it's unnatural and like before, its insulting if it strays too far from their natural shape. Dorbleys can't say, absorb water to gain mass. Like they can, and it would be a fun picture, but its like oil and water, it doesn't mix. Even Dorbleys with other Dorbleys, they and like, mix together for a laugh, but they're suffocating and can't actually merge
They can eat from any part of their body and any food. But they taste from their mouths. Their favorite food is this special algae that is extremely healthy and helps them replenish mass much faster.
The all natively speak salamander, but also learn the language of the nearby population.
Picture their rarity like a D&D race, or Hobbits or Native people living in villages now. There's maybe only 10 000 of them, so they usually just stick to their villages, and they are very friendly to visitors! Dorbleys, especially ones that learned TF powers that leave the village (like Aver) are kept a close eye on
Dorbleys can only change their shape. They can't change their colour, material, size, thickness, etc. Oozing around, maybe forming tentacles or crude tools or just having fun. But no, *goops* "I'm a working car now"

Sadly, the title of the post says ALL CLAIMED for a reason. You're welcome to commission one from me, wait for another sale at some point, or fiddle with the base. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/41343724/
