I was looking through my old work again, this time from 2020, and I felt the need to share the visual development art I'd made based off of Watership Down during that year. I've long since shared the final renders of the characters I designed during that time, but I haven't shown the other small heap of stuff I'd completed. So? Here it be.

Dandelion is likely the most anatomically exaggerated in this set. Others have pointed out that he looks more like a hare then a rabbit, and I feel the need to politely quell the concerns of any lagomorph enthusiasts and say I did indeed do that on purpose. I get it, not everyone gets the difference, but I know the gospel, I swear! You can see by the number of silhouette studies I did just how hard a time I had with settling on his proportions. I'm willing to compromise his species' recognizability if it means I get to make a tall, gangly-limbed Dandy Man. That's simply how I always saw him in my mind.
