OLD SHIT - Watership Down 2020 6/10
I was looking through my old work again, this time from 2020, and I felt the need to share the visual development art I'd made based off of Watership Down during that year. I've long since shared the final renders of the characters I designed during that time, but I haven't shown the other small heap of stuff I'd completed. So? Here it be.
Kehaar is probably my favorite WSD character, if only because I always wanted to be like him, even as a child. Tough and nearly unapproachable, but loyal and good-hearted underneath all those layers of rage. Anyway, despite being a black-headed gull in his summer plumage, I gave him little white "freckles" that never molt away just to make him more unique, more like the kinda misfits the Watership Down warren was founded by. He also has little beauty marks from a past encounter with a pellet gun; he IS canonically acquainted with "little black stones," after all.
