Man seeing this page made me always wonder what his "DAD" actually looked like. From what I can tell it wasn't that far off. Now what ever the back story is behind "Joel" parents is I think I know what it may be. My guess is his DAD was not ready to be a father or parent. Accidents happened in bed an when he found out he was going to be a parent he up an left. Now comes back after years of being gone and wants to try an fix things is my bet. However it could be a simply case of like most couples who get married to fast. They later find out that there love for each other wasn't as strong as there overall sex life. Oh well looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
I can't understand the hate for the dad in the comments.
We only just saw the guy and he seems like he cares about his son.
Now the mom, she seems to have gone from 0 to 100 out of no where.
Maybe he just wanted to see his kid and feels enough time has passed that she would allow him to do as much?
We don't have enough information to infer that he's a bad father or anything. If anything, it really feels like the mother was purposefully preventing him from seeing Joel for whatever reason.

Well that's why there are so many people against him already, usually when one parent goes from 0 to 100 like that against there other in this type of situation there is a good reason for it, sure it could just be spite but his mom doesn't really seem like the type to just do something without reason.
