Have you heard how fickle watercolors are? Oils are pretty much the opposite. They just take a little practice, and they're easier to get used to than watercolors.....far easier. I don't know why people freak out about them so bad, they're really the most forgiving and hardest to mess up.
Very easy, just get a palette knife if it's really bad and scrape off the paint. If it's not so bad, and not conflicting colors, you can usually work with them, push them around, cover them up. Defiantly get the Lukas studio colors. They're pretty affordable through aswexpress.com, they dry faster than most, and they're still lightfast. Also, linseed oil is your friend! Just to a couple of canvases of abstract colors and swirls to get a feel for them, and go for it!
