Sketch -- Avatar: From Sky to Void
AIRBENDING SLICE!
...Ahem. So yeah, the truth is out; I am a big fat Avatard. x3 I've always loved the show since it started, but I've only recently let my complete geekery take over since after I've seen M. Night Shyamalamadingdong's take on it. As a result, I bought the DVD sets of what has to be THE most epic show that has ever come from Nickelodeon and possibly THE best animated series ever (and yes, I'm just dying to see how the upcoming Legend of Korra will compare).
So if you like drama, hilarity, martial arts, the elements, stomach-churning twists and beautiful background artwork, and references to Asian mythology, and aren't biased against "cartoons", but you haven't seen it, then GO WATCH IT. NOW. YOU'RE MISSING OUT.
Anyway, since I've been reliving it almost nonstop, surfing through some fanart, and have been practicing humans due in part to the art-wise influence, I finally caved in and sketched up a fanart piece myself. x3
Avatar Aang, the star himself, just kinda looking awesome in his outfit from Book 3; maybe dismounting from his glider. Except I didn't draw the shoes, 'cause I hate shoes, and I'd rather draw feet. Plus I guess he kinda grew up a little in my rendition, but that's certainly him. Bald characters aren't too bad to draw either, getting a feel for the general look of the human skull and also avoiding the pain of a specific hairstyle. Still, I do plan to draw some of the other characters at one point. :B
Another one I plan to color someday, and when I do, it'll go in scraps.
Now, credit where it's due--Aang and Avatar: The Last Airbender are © to Mike and Bryan, and Nickelodeon.
...It'll quench ya.
