::E D I T:: Don't worry guys! His leg isn't actually on the wrong side. If you're looking at his old ref sheet/the little drawing of him on the picture up there, its incorrect. XD;;; The newer version of Hazuo has the leg missing on the other side like the sculpture. I just haven't drawn his newer self yet! XD
This little endeavor proved to be one worth my time and effort~
Most of my friends are taking the 3D Illustration course this semester and seeing them build figures and such really got me wanting to try my hand at it. Now for those that don't know me, I suck so hardcore at building anything. Hell, I built my super simple computer desk wrong TWICE with instructions... that should tell you something. But I digress!
I went to Utrecht with two of my friends and grabbed two small boxes of Sculpy along with some other supplies. It wasn't long after that (the next day actually) that I began to mess with it. I wasn't sure what to make seeing as I'd never done it before, so I started with something simple. Or so I thought. I made the wire and foil armature and then began the process of layering and modeling the sculpy onto the figure. What I ended up with was my Hazuo! :D He's a bit more "realistic" anatomy-wise than his reference sheet, but that's fine by me. The ref sheet is old anyway~ XD After I got his body done I added in the glass beads for eyes and set him to bake. After he was all done I added his mane and tail tip, which were a challenge to do! Sculpy hair is HARD! @____@ But in the end the adventure was well worth it! I've found a new medium I enjoy working with and I plan on doing more to better myself at it~ :D
So here are some shots of him from start to finish, and of course, I'm going to be painting him at some point. XD Just have to find the time!

Actually its right, well now it is. XDDD The little drawing of him is suuuuuper old and he's actually changed since that was made back in eeeeer *looks* 2007 godthatwasawhilebackffffffff. @___@ I've been meaning to give me a new ref sheet bah.. just haven't gotten to it sadly.
But his missing leg has switched sides purposefully! :D

LOL! XDDDD My friend did the same thing~
Hazuo was actually a star in a constellation and he longed to see what Earth looked like. He wanted to taste water, feel grass, hear the wind, all the things that nature had to offer. So he broke from his constellation and in the process of his fall he lost his leg and got some scars on the way~ :D
