I have been wanting to do a mech for a while and I wanted to do an avian one, for obvious reason. LOL. ^\/^.
The idea for an eagle mech has been on and off my head for years ever since seeing a Power Rangers episode when I was much younger. The mech in question was called the Eaglezord, a.k.a. Sky Gigyoon, and is one of the three Divazords, a.k.a. 3 Evil Zords, from the Power Rangers Turbo series.
Here are a few known pictures of the zord:

The mech drawn here is not a zord however but rather a mech made specifically for D. Dan. The reason is because he can. LOL. ^\/^.
I intend to put this drawing into an upcoming comic in the future. It is a simple one, but still funny. I will not divulge and ruin it now. LOL. ^\/^.
I drew this one with pen (no tracing, just straight ink and a visual imagination, LOL) and digitally cleaned it in one day. The background was drawn quickly and cheaply. I was originally going to have it as a complete mech, but I messed up on the position of the left shoulder pad and screwed up royally the stomach area. As such, as I normally do in straight pen drawings, I compensated by taking my mistakes and making something else with it. In this case, the left shoulder pad is being set slowly into place. Meanwhile, and to help show the immense scale of the mech, I made a walkway of about 10 to 12 floors high that connects to the mech to allow workers to go from the station and into the mech itself to work on the inside of the mech. LOL. ^\/^.
The general design of the mech has a few aspects of Art Deco designs. The idea for the shoulder pads comes from a special costume unlock for lifetime gamers for Champions Online, and one that I really really really want very much but can not since I am not a lifetime gamer. LOL. ^\/^.
The idea fro the look of the eye came from the Gundam 00 series. The eyes on those mechs are so cool and have that computer chip look to them. LOL. ^\/^.
I added a cape for the heck of it. In the picture here it is not on in the fashion it is meant to be. It is meant to flow up and then in between the mech like wings. The reason here is that, since it is still under construction, it simply is not fully put on yet. LOL. ^\/^
The idea for the wings comes from one of Wolfboy1's pics. The one I speak of is http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4327882/ and, unlike the one in his pic, the mech I drew does not have feathers of light but of a clear crystalline metal alloy that can light up fully or with patterns. The patterns can be programmed for either battle use (like blinding the enemy or giving them seizures) or, for fun, to make words that read 'Eat at Joe's'. LOL. ^\/^.
As a last note, I admit that the head, though intended to be an eagle's head, looks more like a hawk's or falcon's head. LOL. ^\/^.
