Yep, with the COVID-19 pandemic greatly easing up this year, the Brockton Rox baseball team is starting to get back into full swing! (No pun intended.) And today, we had their mascot K-O the Kangaroo make his first public appearance in two years and four months, at the Whitman girls' softball league opening! It was lots of fun, and as I pulled the costume on and started having fun with the kids, everything came rushing back to me before the pandemic broke out. I gave out lots of high-fives and fist-bumps, I played "Tag" and "Ring Around the Rosie" with several of the girls, and there were still some rough-housers as usual, but some of it was actually kind of fun (though I'm glad one of the girls' mother scolded them for being abusive to me after a while!) It also wasn't too warm out, kind of a chilly morning in the upper 40s, but that didn't matter to me as K-O, of course!
