Something of a follow-up to this story and picture.
Poor Cyrene seems a little bit overwhelmed with her new surroundings. After having met Emer at the bunnyfoxes secret spot in the woods, the two had conspired that the young princess would "adopt" the talking swift fox as her pet. Under the condition that no one else would be told that Cyrene could actually talk. But of course the new pet needed to be introduced to everyone at the castle, and Cyrene is just a little bit overwhelmed by getting so much attention from so many strangers at once... Well, if you want to live undercover as a feral, you've also gotta live with people treating you like an adorable house-pet.
I just couldn't help but continue the story of these two. They're just too sweet of a duo. Let's just hope none of the adults looks too closely and discovers Cyrenes little demon horns.

Now the real test begins! But I'm sure Cyrene will adapt to the role in short order, and might even enjoy some of the perks of being a pampered pet, at least for a while. With a whole castle and its grounds to explore, and a young friend who'll likely be more than happy to steal all kinds of choice tidbits for her, I think she'll have a very comfortable life indeed! Hah, and I don't think she needs to worry too much about the horns. I only just noticed them, myself, and I know she has 'em!

Oh yeah, I am sure Cyrene is worrying way too much here considering how nice and welcoming everyone is. But we also can't really blame her for being paranoid. It's not like she had that many kind interactions with regular people in her past. I am sure she will get used to it soon enough though, and whatever tasty bits Emer can sneak her from the dinner table have to be a lot better than what she had to make do with for the last couple of weeks.

Well, as someone with experience being an undercover talking feral pet, I'm sure the fox-thing will be fine. Granted, I went from "pretending to be a pet" to "asking to be a pet for real" pretty fast... But my Owner is really nice and it's not like I can have a place on my own... ^.^;;
Well, I mean, I have a novel-length story series in my gallery that's still ongoing... Princess is a non-anthro dragoness, but dragons in that world are about the size (and intelligence) of a large dog. She's able to talk, however, and is rescued by a nice human, so when she "legally" ends up his property, she decides to play along and pretend to be a tame pet. But soon she decides to make it an official thing, because he's nice and cares for her, and she doesn't have a lot of options otherwise...
Meanwhile, he's learning magic, and the two go on adventures! Everyone still expects her to be like any other dragon, and Princess is scared that if people know her secret(s), humans will panic and want her destroyed. So she has to deal with a lot of "You're not bringing that creature indoors, are you?" and other such treatment... I could say more, but I don't wanna spoil too much if you plan on reading it. ^_^;;

Aw, they really are such a cute pair, aren't they? Who knew that sly sutsune could be so sweet? I love the idea of her hastily scrambling to get in character as Emer holds her up to meet the rest of the family, and you can just see "what have I gotten myself into" flashing through her head! But I'm sure she'll soon settle into her role, and who knows? With the guarantee of a soft bed, good food and a kindly co-conspirator, things might just turn out fine!

Haha, oh yes, she definitely wasn't prepared for that amount of child-like enthusiasm. You can just tell that she's been caught on the wrong foot. Funny enough though, I was joking with Megan earlier, what if the unseen point of view character that Cyrene is being presented to was Grace, and her worried look is because Cyrene is worried Grace might recognize her from that one night she broke into her room. I'm sure Grace wouldn't be mad at her even if she remembered what happened, but Cyrene most certainly wouldn't know that. Either way, for now she's got a cute bunnyfox to conspire with. There's plenty of mischief and pantries to get into after all.
Glad to hear her secret is safe with you too. I feel like the castle staff might be okay with a talking fox, but I'm not so sure if they'd think it so funny if they knew a demon was hanging out with the princess.
