Shotokan is a good technique ;D...I'll stick with Baguazhang.

I have heard of Baguazhang but never seen it. How is it?

Depends on which of the 8 techniques you choose. And each technique has subclassings, it's a very confusing hierarchy Dx...I use Silent Wind Style. Baguazhang is known for being, "Easy to learn, but nigh on impossible to master."

Let's see....Silent Wind, Blind Guardian, Red Lotus, Black Lotus, Gold Lotus, White Lotus, Creeping Wolf, Crescent Moon, Living Shadow, DreamWeaver, and Wandering Tide.

Silent wind is about swiftness and accuracy, Blind Guardian is about learning your opponent, Red lotus is about ferocity, Black Lotus is about speed, Gold lotus is about strength, White lotus is about focus, Creeping wolf is about stealth, Crescent moon is about inner focus, Living shadow combines stealth and ferocity, Dreamweaver is about trickery sort of a sleight-of-hand technique, and Wandering tide is about flow.

how long did this take?

3 years to get my green belt for me.

I've been studying them for about 12 years, and Baguazhang is the only one i can truly perform. I dont go to Dojos or anything, I do this in my freetime. But i'd be an equivalent black belt in Silent Wind and Blind Guardian

Ah I see ^^ that is pretty cool I just watched some videos on Baguazhang. It's a really awesome art, it looks so amazing ^^

Silent wind itself, is sort of like a dance. One of the arts you can perform doing it, is Storm of the Violet Lotus, which is almost exactly like a dance, designed for taking on medium sized groups.
