Cryptids make for some excellent character designs, and it's a lot of fun reading up on the myriad regional myths.

There is a decent chance of this not being my last poll with a cryptid theme. After all, there are a whole bunch of other cool critters I'd love to research!

If I might lodge a suggestion, you might consider taking a look at Indigenous myths and lore -- even just tackling the cryptids of the Americas' native cultures could last you for ages, and they tend to lend themselves to really interesting designs, especially if you lean into the distinct artistic styles of each culture.

You know, I have actually considered doing that for a follow-up poll some time, although I should probably avoid using the folklore of cultures that I am not too familiar with. I would not want to misrepresent anybody, after all.

That said, there is nothing stopping me from doing something with European myths and urban legends. There are some pretty crazy critters to be found on the old continent as well!
