**Giggles!**
Now, what good ol' gal doesn't love to shop? It used to be a great thing for me back in the days of my youth where I was allowed by my folks to get what I wanted, but there was always the lecture of "Do you really need it?" or "Have you checked to see if you can get it cheeper?" Mom would often say the first while Pop would always offer the last. From what I learned from their actions more than their words is both families grew up poor. Thanks to Pop's hard work and Mom's smarts, I never went without and I learned the value of money. When I was allowed the "rare" times of shopping for myself, usually either due to a birthday or after I started making my own money ... it started with working in the lawn care industry as a friend of mine's young boy reminded me ... I shopped with vim and vigor, making sure that the almighty dollar was stretched to the breaking point. More often than naught, I went by myself, but there were a few rare times Mom insisted she go along with me or Pop might tag along, but after I got my first car, a little red four speed truck, I did it all myself. And Pop was so proud of me!
Now, for such a bold and vibrant gal like Taffy, the copper topped tigress loves to shop, but she also likes to make money too, having several business ventures in her hometown of Crossroads. Having started with the Girl Scouts and bake sales through rough and tumble work like what I did back then, she moved into owning her own comic book and gaming shop, something I always wanted to do, called "The Flip Side!" which is modeled after the infamous "Sword of the Phoenix!" Rumor has it that the magical sword that her Mom used on her own adventures is stored there boldly out front for the world to see. So, when Taffy goes shopping, it's not just for the experience of seeing what's out there, it's to people watch and take her friends along with her. Shan is one of her many friends, all are her best friends, who loves to come along with the happy-go-lucky tigress. Such an adventure means food, fun, and more food. Here we have the gal-pals hand-in-hand, enjoying the fun!
This is one of three commissions I planned a while back and paid for to my good friend
tragicfame and her good friend,
maolin helped finish the work, polishing up there ideas. To both of these artists, they have my deepest thanks and humble respect for. They are doing what they love and that is something I admire very much so.
