Like several other aircraft I've made 3-view drawings of, the KFX201 is a real-life projected aircraft design. Unlike the others, however, *this* project is still on-going, and could potentially produce a flyable aircraft!
The KFX project officially began in 2001, in order to meet a ROKAF requirement for a 5th-Generation Air Superiority Fighter. The F-22A Raptor was actually ROKAF's first choice, but the US government was (and remains) willy-nilly about the prospect of exporting F-22 technology abroad, so this wasn't an option for South Korea.
If they really DO build this thing, and ultimately offer it on the export market, it'll be a major competitor for (and universally better deal than) the F-35 --- and a gigantic humiliation for Lockheed-Martin and Congress.
The KFX201 was one of two different potential layouts for the KFX (the other being the KFX202, which is a dead-ringer for the F-22A). So far, the '201 is the most-publicized of the two, so it will probably be the winning design.
